Offering Opportunities for You!
Marching Band
Marching band is a great way to acclimate yourself to the high school experience as it offers you a great opportunity to develop musical skills
while also fostering great friendships that continue through high school. The band is an extra curricular activity
open to students in grades 8-12. The marching band performs in many activities such as parades, football games, pep
ensembles, and competitions while every student gets to travel on trips to places such as Disney World, Toronto (Canada), and
Busch Gardens (Virginia), to name just a few.
Concert Band
Concert Band is a curricular ensemble that meets one period a day each semester. The ensemble offers students the opportunity to participate
in an activity exploring many styles of concert literature. The band performs at a couple concerts each semester.
Concert Choir
Concert Choir is a curricular ensemble that meets one period each semester. The ensemble offers students the opportunity to participate in an
activity exploring many styles of choral literature. The ensemble develops in the students a better awareness of vocal singing
and helps develop the voice for participation in the select ensemble, Show Choir.
Jazz Ensemble
Jazz ensemble meets for one semester each year. The band develops skills in the area of jazz and swing styles of music. The
band meets five days a week for 18 weeks.
Indoor Color Guard
Indoor Color Guard is an extra curricular activity which fosters the idea of colorguard pageantry. The ensemble meets from January to May and competes
on Saturdays throughout the second semester. The season finale includes a four-day competition trip to Wildwood, New Jersey for
the Tournament Indoor Association's All-Chapter Championships.
Indoor Percussion
Indoor Percussion is an extra curricular activity which continues building the skills of students interested in drums and mallet
percussion. The ensemble meets from January to May and competes on Saturdays throughout the second semester. The season
finale includes a four-day competition trip to Wildwood, New Jersey for the Tournament Indoor Association's All-Chapter
Championships.
Show Choir
Show Choir is a select group of singers that perform at many school and community functions throughout the school year. Many of
the students are concert choir members and have developed skills necessary for this ensemble. The group requires students to
memorize music, which is then choreographed. The show choir meets one day a week after school throughout the school year.
Dance Team
This extra curricular ensemble is for students interested in exploring their talents in the area of dance. The ensemble meets
in the second semester and performs at many athletic activities as well as concluding the season with a four-day competition trip to Wildwood, New Jersey for the Tournament Indoor Association's All-Chapter
Championships.
Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) sponsored choir and band festivals require students to participate in
at least one band or choir activity for an entire year.
