News Releases
The marching band will perform in the Tournament of Bands (TOB) Competition Circuit. Details about the day and time of each
competition performance is listed in the schedule.
The TOB is one of the largest competitive band organizations in the country. Founded in 1972
by the National Judges Association, Tournament has grown to over 400 active schools. Additional information about TOB is

The TOB is self-governed by an executive board elected by the member bands of TOB. The rules, bylaws, score sheets
and the judging philosophy are all developed by the member bands at congresses and by participation on technical
committees (music, percussion, visual). Currently, the Tournament of Bands is divided into 13 Chapters that
encompass 9 states.
Group Sizes
Bands will be grouped according to the number of players in the band proper as follows: |
Group 1 |
Up to 35 musicians and a maximum of 35 auxiliary |
| Group 2 |
36 to 55 musicians and a maximum of 55 auxiliary |
| Group 3 |
56 to 80 musicians and a maximum of 80 auxiliary |
| Group 4 |
81 or greater |

Visual Proficiency Analysis: (Both scores are averaged ) 20 Points

Specialty awards - Percussion, Auxiliary, Drum Major, Brass, and Woodwinds will also be 20 point captions.
Specialty awards will be announced along with the individual band placement.
