1.  Paper/Pencil:** In the poem, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, which words rhyme?

 

     Answer:**  star-are

2.      Performance Question:   Write a 4-line poem in which the last words in lines 1&2 and 3&4 rhyme.

 

     Assessment Tool:**  Teacher corrected.

 

Activity: Students will write an acryptic poem about a classmate.  Each student will list the letters of his or her partner’s name vertically on a sheet of paper.  Students will then use each letter to write special or friendly qualities about their partners.  Students will then share their acryptic poems with one another, then display their work in the classroom.

 

 

Duration: 20 minutes
